Today we know so much more about the brain than we ever have. With the development of technology has come great advances in our understanding of this incredible, beautiful, complex organ, which shapes who we are and how we experience the world around us.
Hypnotherapy is a brain-based therapy. It is a modern approach which is grounded in decades of scientific studies and research. There's no "woo woo" here, and I am not a stage hypnotist... so I won't be making you dance like a chicken! Sorry to disappoint :)
Trance is a brain state that we all naturally go into many times a day - you know, if you're lost in a tv show, really concentrating on something, or driving a regular route and you're like, "how did I get here?!..."
The trance we do in sessions is basically like a deep relaxation, think bedtime story that makes you feel relaxed and safe :)
When you are really relaxed, your brain starts doing truly wonderful things! and this is what begins to help you shift unhelpful patterns of thought, and to move forward in a different way...

Hi, I'm Polly

I’m a mum, a friend, a daughter, a sister… We are so many things to so many people. But sometimes, without even realising it, we forget to care about the most important relationship in our lives, the one we have with ourselves.
For years I had high functioning depression and anxiety. This is when it seems from the outside that everything is fine, but underneath it all everything feels so wrong, and negative thoughts run wild…
After a series of traumatic events which all seemed to collide at the same time, my brain just couldn’t function any more and I had a full-on breakdown. In the months that followed, I began to learn how to care for myself. I became curious. Why are we so mean to ourselves in our heads? And how can I recover from this?
At some point in the year that followed, I was given a course by a caring friend, which opened the door for me. I did a lot of research into what model of therapy I wanted to study. I was determined to find something that really helped people, something that really worked.
Now I am in the top 5% most qualified hypnotherapists in the UK, and working with clients every day, helping them to experience real and positive change just like I did.

We won’t dwell on the past; instead, we will focus on where you want to be, using positive conversations and gentle relaxation to help your mind shift out of survival mode and into clarity, calm, and confidence. You won't be doing this alone, we'll be in it together :)

This form of therapy works brilliantly with online video calls, allowing you to be in the comfort and privacy of your own home for the sessions.
I also enjoy meeting with clients for in-person therapy sessions at my clinic room in Trowse, Norwich. It's a lovely quiet room which has a comfy chair, and a place where you can lie down with a blanket for the relaxation if you want to.


The initial consultation is free of charge, and a great chance for you to meet me and see if this feels like a good fit for you. You will learn some fascinating things about your brain and begin to really understand why you are feeling as you are; it’s so interesting!
Following that, a standard 1 hour session (online or in person) is £90
A block of 6 sessions is £480
Smoking cessation (1 session, 1.5-2hrs) is £350
NB - initial phone consultation required to assess best personalised treatment approach
The good news is that the solution-focused hypnotherapy approach is considered to be very effective, and it is what’s known as a “brief” therapy.
The length of treatment does vary depending on the nature of what we are working to improve, but generally, you would expect to have around 6-12 sessions. For some particular issues it's less. For some clients, the process just takes a little longer. I will be able to give you a better estimate once we’ve had the free initial consultation together.
